Ancestral Mezcal Patatús
Reviving the Ancestral Way of Making Mezcal.
Mezcal Patatús is something else. In the tales of the elders, it was said that when this mezcal was tasted, it was not only its flavor that was enjoyed, but it felt like a current of energy, a buzzing that ran through the body, awakening forgotten memories and emotions; as if it had the power to transport you to another time, to another place; where the shadows of the past became bright lights and old pains dissolved in the sweetness of a shared sip.
Over time, the family´s mezcal became legendary. It was said that those who tasted it not only shared a sip, but a piece of history. They felt their ancestors watching them from the mountains, approving each sip, each laugh that arose among friends by the warmth of the fire.
And so, the legacy of the ancestors of Mezcal Patatús endured, resisting the passage of time. Not just as another recipe, but as a living tradition, a pact between generations, between men and women who never allowed mezcal to lose its magic.
Mezcal Patatús is not just a distilled spirit: it is a deep connection, a bridge between yesterday and today, between the soul of the earth and the spirit of humankind. And although generations passed, the mezcal would remain the same, eternal like the land where it was born.
FLAVOR THAT SEDUCES
Tasting notes of Mezcal Patatús:
From the first contact with the glass, Mezcal Patatús offers a fascinating sensory experience. On the nose, it unfolds a bomb of delicate notes that evoke the softness of butter, the depth of roasted nuts, the complex character of aged cheese, and a subtle smoky background that invites further exploration of its aroma. The complexity on the nose is immediate and enveloping, suggesting a beverage of great body and authenticity.
When taking the first sip, the mezcal reveals lactic memories intertwined with a pleasant astringency, creating a refreshing sensation that prepares the palate for the richness to come. Its body is ample, with balanced acidity perfectly harmonized with the alcohol, which gives it a solid and pleasant structure. The balance in each sip is notable, showing the skill in its crafting and the purity of the Wild Salmiana agave.
DISTILLERY
WITH MEZCAL LEGACY
Mezcal Patatús is not only a mezcal brand, but also a project built with passion and vision on a 14-hectare estate in a beautiful finca in the heart of the Delegación de Bocas in the Municipality of San Luis Potosí. This space has been carefully selected to house the essence of our mezcal tradition, surrounded by the natural majesty of the region.

Our land is in a privileged place, where the climate and soil combine to give life to the Salmiana Agave, the base of our mezcal. Here, agaves grow under the best conditions, nourished by the rich land of San Luis Potosí, which gives each plant a unique personality reflected in the flavor of our product.

ANCESTRAL TRADITION PROCESS
Huichol distillation method.
The distillation process we use is faithful to ancestral traditions, using the Huichol method, a system that respects the knowledge of the native peoples of the region. This technique ensures that each stage of the process, from cooking to distillation, is handled with the greatest care and respect.

Cooking time:
5 days in a wood-fired oven
100% Salmiana Agave
The Wild Salmiana Agave, endemic to the Potosino region, is the base of our mezcal. This variety of agave is known for its particular characteristics, which bring a deep, complex, and authentic flavor to our mezcal. Cultivated with care and without rush, the agave is the very essence of Mezcal Patatús.

Fermentation in stone pits;
pie de fermentación pulque
Fermentation is another key step in the creation of Mezcal Patatús. We use stone pits, a traditional system that helps maximize fermentation quality, allowing the sugars in the agave to transform patiently and carefully. The pulque fermentation starter ensures a quality base that guarantees the final result, with a natural and flavorful fermentation.

Double distillation in clay pots with internal collection
Our mezcal is ancestrally distilled through a double distillation in clay pots, an ancestral process that helps preserve the natural aromas and flavors of the agave. The internal collection system in the clay pots, called "campanilla," gives the mezcal a characteristic smoothness, preserving that ancestral touch that only clay can offer.

40° de Alcohol Vol.
With 40% alcohol by volume, Mezcal Patatús offers a perfect concentration that allows its complexity and intensity to be enjoyed, without neglecting its smoothness on the palate. The balance between alcohol and the other components of the beverage creates a round and memorable experience.
Current production: 8,000 bottles per month
The production of Mezcal Patatús is carefully controlled to guarantee quality in every bottle. With a monthly production of 8,000 bottles, each one is made with the same passion and dedication, maintaining the standard of excellence that has allowed us to stand out nationally and internationally.
